Highlights
It started with sleepless nights for most of us. Right? Not the kind which is romanticized on reels! No, not that poetic kind but the ultimate exhausting kind, where our thoughts raced and sounded louder at 2 a.m. than they did all day.
So we tossed, turned, scrolled and sighed!
But that was not the end of the story! The mornings which followed were hopeless with a foggy brain and quick temper. So probably with coffee in one hand, doling out dark circled-tired eyes, we showed up! Notifications. Deadlines. Conversations that felt forced. Social batteries that were nonexistent... and suddenly the memes about “burnout,” didn’t feel that funny anymore.
‘You’re functioning but not feeling. You’re surviving but not quite thriving.!’ Sounds familiar? This is the world we live in, which is loud, fast and demanding. And somewhere in that noise, we stopped hearing ourselves. But what if we told you that your mind is not a machine that’s breaking……It’s a garden that’s waiting to be tended?
Chapter 1: The Day Mind Felt Heavy.
We don’t really remember when the stress had turned chronic and how far the damage was done already. When had overthinking become a personality trait or when had sound slumber become a distant memory!
We googled solutions, popped supplements, but nothing felt real or rooted. Just like that, maybe we were missing out on some real magic! Something earthy. Something that didn’t sound like a quick fix, but rather like a deep breath of fresh air. Something that are natural remedies for a happy mind!
Ayurveda!
Chapter 2: Rediscovering the Mind as Energy.
Ayurveda calls the mind ‘divine’ and not “disordered.” Ayurveda for mental wellness, views the mind not as a battlefield where you fight numerous intrusive thoughts. Not as a board room of decisions and discussions. But, as a garden that is alive, lush and delicate propped up by happiness herbs. Ayurveda considers mind not as a machine or a mood, rather as a living landscape of cosmic forces which are explained in terms of three manogunas,
- Sattva (clarity & peace)
- Rajas (drive & desire), and
- Tamas (inertia & confusion).
To tend to the mind is to tend to these energies. Hence, while contemporary science chants “mental health” like a clinical diagnosis, Ayurveda signs off in a different venue called Manasika Swasthya, the mental well-being rooted in harmony, stillness and clarity.
Hence, instead of asking “What’s wrong with you?”It gently asked “What needs more light?”
Chapter 3: Meeting the Plant Allies.
So why not start slow, not with a new prescription, but with a cup of ayurvedic herbs for happiness.
